Bodybuilding History : The 1960’s covers the competitive bodybuilding landscape from 1960-1969. All of the major bodybuilding competitions, including the AAU Mr. America, the NABBA Mr. Universe, the IFBB Mr. Olympia, IFBB Mr. America, IFBB Mr. Universe and IFBB Mr. World, are covered in extensive detail during the transformative era of the 1960’s. The sport of Bodybuilding really started to grow in the 1960’s. New organizations like the IFBB and the WBBG started organizing competitions to challenge the established AAU and NABBA and the number of bodybuilding competitions grew extensively in this decade.
